Our funeral flower service extends beyond Nottingham and Derby, so you can arrange a farewell through Welch wherever you are ordering from.
Start with the funeral details and an idea of the person you want to remember. A favourite colour, an understated design or flowers reminiscent of their garden can be a useful starting point. You do not have to know the names of the flowers or have every detail decided before contacting us.

How our UK funeral flower delivery works
Made by a florist near the destination
For funerals outside our own-van area, an Interflora partner florist creates and hand-delivers your tribute. This allows you to order through Welch for a funeral elsewhere in the UK, with the flowers prepared by the florist fulfilling the order.
In Nottingham, Derby and our surrounding local area, Welch’s own team prepares and delivers the flowers. The delivery arrangements depend on the destination, rather than where you live or place the order.
Please check availability for the full postcode, design and funeral date when ordering. If the address or date cannot be selected, contact us so we can check the options with you.
Delivery before the funeral
We deliver to funeral directors, which we prefer, as well as homes and service venues. Always give us the funeral time when placing your order: delivery is arranged up to two hours before that time.
If the flowers are going to a funeral director, provide their full address and the name of the person whose funeral is taking place. Check the receiving arrangements with them, particularly if the service is at another location.
For a home or service venue, tell us who will receive the flowers and any access instructions. If the funeral arrangements change after ordering, contact us promptly.
Usually, please allow at least two days’ notice. If the funeral is sooner, call us. We can usually accommodate shorter time frames, but the design and delivery need to be confirmed first. Our standard same-day flower offer excludes the funeral range.

Check the family’s wishes
Before choosing a tribute, check whether the family has requested particular colours, family flowers only or donations instead. If several people are arranging flowers, a quick conversation can help everyone choose with confidence.
Choose a style and budget
Use the product photographs and dimensions to compare designs. For a main casket tribute, agree the size with the family or funeral director. A smaller posy or sheaf can be just as considered when it is the right choice for you.
Share the delivery details
Provide the funeral date and time, the deceased’s name, the full delivery address and postcode, a contact number and your card message. Make clear whether the flowers are going to the funeral director, a home or the service venue.

White and green can feel calm and understated; soft pastels offer a gentle mix of colour; brighter flowers can recall someone’s warmth or a favourite garden. There is no single colour that makes a tribute more meaningful. Let the person and the family’s wishes guide you.
A wreath has a circular form, a posy is compact and rounded, and a sheaf has the gathered appearance of a bouquet designed to lie flat. Casket sprays are longer arrangements for the top of the coffin. Hearts, cushions and lettering offer other ways to make the tribute personal.
For a particular flower, colour or bespoke idea, speak to us before ordering. We will check what can be arranged for the destination and date, including any additional preparation time and the price.
A natural style, without floral foam
The White and Green Eco-friendly Casket Tribute uses natural branches rather than floral foam. If the funeral is at a natural burial ground or has specific material requirements, check those requirements with the venue and discuss the design with us.

What to write on a funeral flower card
Your message can be brief. You might address the person who has died, recall a quality you loved, or express your thoughts to the family. Include your name, or the names of everyone sending the flowers, so the family knows who the tribute is from.

UK funeral flower delivery questions
Do you deliver funeral flowers outside Nottingham and Derby?
Yes. Welch offers funeral flower delivery across the UK. Outside our local own-van area, your flowers are made and hand-delivered by an Interflora partner florist. Availability is checked for the product, postcode and date.
Can I order if I cannot attend the funeral?
Yes. You can arrange flowers for a funeral elsewhere in the UK without attending yourself. Give us the funeral details, delivery address and card message, including your name so the family knows who sent the flowers.
Should the flowers go to the funeral director or the service?
We prefer delivery to the funeral director, but can also deliver to homes and service venues. Confirm where the flowers should be received before ordering, and provide that full address rather than assuming the service address is the delivery address.
What time will the flowers arrive?
Always supply the funeral date and time. Delivery is arranged up to two hours before the funeral time. Tell us about any separate receiving instructions from the funeral director or venue when you order.
How much notice do you need?
Usually at least two days. If you have less time, call 0115 973 7888 so we can check availability. We can usually accommodate shorter time frames, but please confirm the arrangements with us before placing a short-notice order.
How much do funeral flowers and delivery cost?
The current price and available sizes are shown on each product page. Delivery options and charges depend on the order and destination and are shown during ordering and checkout. For a bespoke design, contact us to discuss the idea, budget and delivery location before a price is confirmed.
Can I choose specific flowers or colours?
Many products offer colour or size options. If a particular flower or detail is essential, contact us before ordering so we can check availability with the florist fulfilling your order. Flowers are natural materials and availability can vary.
Are sympathy flowers the same as funeral flowers?
Funeral tributes are designed for the farewell or service. Sympathy flowers are usually sent to someone at home to offer comfort. If you want to support the family before or after the funeral, browse our sympathy flower range.
Can you help with a Sunday or short-notice funeral?
Please call to discuss the date and destination. Delivery outside the usual days and short-notice requests need an availability check; do not rely on the general same-day flower offer for a funeral order.
